Storage analysis

Cleans measures the resources Photos makes available locally and saves completed measurements. Initial analysis can take time. Reopening checks for changed assets and reuses valid saved results. A measured size is not the same as current disk space used or immediately reclaimed.

iCloud

Cleans does not automatically download originals to measure storage. Some assets may show an unavailable size. Opening a preview may download its media through Apple Photos.

Photos access

Use iPhone Settings to change Cleans’ Photos access. Limited access means only selected items are visible. The system picker in Cleans lets you expand that selection.

Deletion and saved totals

You choose items and confirm with Apple Photos. Cancelling leaves the library unchanged. Recently Deleted may retain deleted items; check Photos if you need to recover an item. Changes to an iCloud Photos library can sync across your devices.

The running total in Cleans counts measured potential recovery from deletions confirmed in the app since that total was added. It is saved on the device and is not a promise of current free space.

Suggestions

Similar images and possible duplicates are suggestions. Review them before deleting. Live Photo comparisons consider the still frame, so check the motion too.

Optional tips

All cleaning features are free. Tips are optional one-time purchases processed by Apple. They do not unlock content or create a subscription. Purchase availability depends on the App Store. For billing or refund requests, use Apple’s purchase support.
