Privacy Policy
Linguine Cleans is an iPhone app by Michael Rothwell-Williams. It helps you review storage used by items in your Photos library. Its analysis runs on your device.
Your Photos stay on your device
Cleans accesses only the Photos assets you authorise. Storage measurement, screenshot text recognition and visual similarity analysis run on your iPhone. Photos, videos, recognised text and analysis results are not uploaded to the developer or an analysis service.
Saved analysis
To resume progress, Cleans stores asset identifiers, metadata fingerprints and measured byte counts locally. Optional smart review also saves visual feature representations, hashes, text digests and quality scores. These indexes contain no original images or recognised text and are excluded from device backups.
Cleans also stores a running total of the measured potential recovery from deletions you confirmed in the app. This total is kept on your device and can differ from space actually freed, including when Photos retains items in Recently Deleted.
You can change or revoke Photos access in Settings. Cleans reconciles its indexes with accessible assets and clears them when access is revoked. Deleting the app removes its local data; offloading the app may retain it. Your Photos library is managed separately by Apple.
Apple services
Opening an iCloud preview or compressing an iCloud video may download media through Apple Photos. Video compression runs on device, uses a temporary file removed after the operation, and saves a new Photos asset only when you choose it. Deletions use Apple's confirmation and Recently Deleted behaviour.
Optional tips use Apple's in-app purchase service. Cleans verifies transactions on device and has no purchase server. Apple processes payments and associated account data under its own privacy policy; the developer does not receive your payment-card details through Cleans.
No tracking
Cleans has no account system, advertising, third-party analytics or tracking SDK. Apple may provide diagnostics or TestFlight feedback according to your system settings and choices.
Links and support
The optional Linguine Coach link opens a third-party website. That website's privacy policy applies to information you choose to submit there. Sending feedback opens your email app; nothing is sent until you send it. Any message and attachments you send are shared with the support mailbox, so please avoid including private photos or sensitive information.
